Park to Park Trail

Killbear Provincial Park – Algonquin Provincial Park, 230 km, 12 days

The Park-To-Park Trail is meant to create an east-west link connecting Killbear Provincial Park to Algonquin Provincial Park, linking seven of Ontario's première provincial parks.

Algonquin Provincial Park is both large and popular, but funny as it seems, logging is normal business here. The trail is a clear example of a multi-use trail. Not every section is open to all, though. Hikers do not pay permit fees. Snowmobiles and ATV's must pay. Other uses are cycling, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, horseback riding and dog sledding. Hiking, frankly, is a not that popular on this trail, due to the number of bugs and ATV's. Snowmobiling in winter is very popular on this trail.
